From 2006 until 2012 and then on and off for another 5 years, I ran a literary journal with a humanistic model of giving writers feedback. Over the following 10 years I probably read over 5000 manuscripts and gave feedback to all of those people. I had a staff of 8 people at one point and I was railing against systems of literary injustice on the day-to-day.
I was obviously looking for my true purpose in life. You can find the archives in the WayBackMachine here.
One of the fun things I did every quarter was I made covers of the journal which really only appeared online anyway. Each cover I'd take a photo in photoshop and then "mess it up" over hours and hours until I came up with something original.
